Diary of the 14th Kazan Film Festival: 5.09.18

The 14th Kazan International Muslim Film Festival continues its work.

A press conference was held with a Kyrgyz TV presenter and actress, a Vice-President of Chingiz Aitmatov Issyk-Kul Forum Assol Moldokmatova was held at the press-centre of the festival.

The film To Die Avenged. The Letters from the Past was screened today at Almaz Cinema Port that received the award of the 10th Kazan Muslim Film Festival for best full length feature film directing. The screening concluded with a meeting with the director of the film, Oktay Mir-Kasim, who is currently a member of the jury of the 14th edition of the festival.

The film Pegy Dog, Running the Edge of the Sea based on the novel by Chingiz Aitmatov was also screened today. The director of the film Karen Gevorgyan had questions and answers session with the spectators of the film afterwards.

The first International Film Festival Directors Forum held in conjunction with the festival also continued its work today in the Kazan Kremlin.

A press conference with Emmanuil Vitorgan was held in Tatar-inform.

Other honourable guest of the festival, a Russian actor Marat Basharov also had a questions and answers session after the screening of the film Mullah. He also attended the opening ceremony of Union Youth Club, which was recently renovated under the patronage of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan. The youth presented the actor his caricature.

Three cooperation agreements were signed between the Kazan Muslim Film Festival and Turkic World Documentary Film Festival (Turkey), Geneva Oriental Film Festival (Switzerland) and Sharm El-Sheikh Film Festival (Egypt), respectively.
