Exhibition Dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Kazan Muslim Film Festival Opened at the Kazan Kremlin

26 April 2019

The exhibition ‘Through the dialogue of cultures - to the culture of dialogue’ dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Kazan Muslim Film Festival opened today in Manege Hall of the Kazan Kremlin. The participants of the festival became the first visitors of the exhibition, which was opened by the executive director of the festival, Milyausha Aytuganova, and the director of the Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve, Zilya Valeeva.

‘The Kazan Kremlin is our business card. If you haven’t visited the Kremlin, it means that you haven’t visited Kazan’, said Milyausha Aytuganova, giving the floor to Zilya Valeeva, who was one of the initiators of the Kazan Muslim Film Festival.

‘After 15 years, the festival has become the event, which is expected by a great interest both by the organizing committee and the inhabitants of Kazan. This is an event, reflecting the diversity of our world and attracting people from various backgrounds’, said Zilya Valeeva. ‘15 years ago, the situation was completely different and we really wanted to give impetus to the development of cinematography in Tatarstan. Therefore, when I read in the interview of Sergey Lavrentyev, that today, thanks to the festival, we see Tatarstan films in competition programmes, you know, there are no better words and reasons for being happy’, shared her impressions Zilya Valeeva.

The exhibition ‘Through the dialogue of cultures - to the culture of dialogue’ was prepared specially for the anniversary of the Kazan Muslim Film Festival.

The exhibition is constituted by 4 thematic areas: history of Tatarstan cinematography, which also celebrates its 95th anniversary this year; photo-story of the Kazan Muslim Film Festival; current state of the film industry of the region and the works of the students of the Kazan State Institute of Culture, which this year also celebrates its 50th anniversary.
