The 15th Kazan Film Festival to Conduct its 1st International Film Pitching

The 1st International Film Pitching will be held at the 2019 edition of the Kazan Muslim Film Festival. The participants of the competition will present their synopses of full length feature films to the expert commission. The winner of the pitching will receive targeted support for the implementation of his/her project. It is necessary to highlight that the selected film must be produced in Tatarstan or co-produced by the region. The final stage of the pitching will be held on April 25 from 14.00 to 17.00 at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center.  

  The shortlist of the pitching includes the following projects:
1. Lonely Pine by Damira Tilepbergenova (Kyrgyzstan)
2. Generation Z by Aidar Gabdrakhamnov (Russia, Republic of Tatarstan)
3. Safa and Sajid by Amir Galiaskarov (Russia, Republic of Tatarstan)
4. Let's pray by Mansur Gilyazov (Russia, Republic of Tatarstan)
5. Almachuar by Ilshat Rakhimov (Russia, Republic of Tatarstan)
6. Ochpochmak Day by Salavat Yuzeev (Russia, Republic of Tatarstan)
7. Sunset & Sunrise by Omar Gamal (Egypt)
8. Hori by Arun de Zhoshi (Nepal)  

  ‘It is the first international pitching for the Republic of Tatarstan. The involvement of the region on final production is the absolute priority. I hope that such cooperation will contribute to the development of cinematography in our region, helping to reach a new level in its development’, commented Milyausha Aytuganova, the executive director of the Kazan Muslim Film Festival.
  It is necessary to highlight that the 1st International Film Pitching will be held in conjunction with KazanSummit, which ensures the real connection with prominent partners and investors during the competition, which is organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, Tatarkino, Tatarstan Investment Development Agency and the Russian Union of Cinematographers.

Kazan Muslim Film Festival has been held in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia since 2005. The festival is founded by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Mayor of Kazan and the Council of Muftis of Russia and organised by Tatarkino. The festival programme focuses on Russian and international films promoting the ideas of tolerance, peacebuilding and intercultural dialogue regardless any religion affiliations. The festival motto is ‘Through the dialogue of cultures - to the culture of dialogue’.
The 15th Kazan International Muslim Film Festival will be held from April 24 to April 30, 2019.
