Today, Milyausha Aituganova, the director of the Kazan International Muslim Film Festival and Andrew Morgan, the art director of the International Festival of Cinema, Religion and Society (Italy) signed a cooperation agreement between the festivals.
'This is my first visit to Russia. I am glad that it began with the Kazan Muslim Film Festival. The founder of our festival has also attended Kazan two years ago. After coming back to Italy, she said that it was an amazing event and now, we are signing the cooperation agreement. I hope that our cooperation will last at least 20 years', said Andrew Morgan.
‘I think you have already felt the atmosphere of Kazan. I am sure that your festival also has an atmosphere of mutual understanding, kindness and cooperation. Our aims are overlapping, we have common concepts and directions. I hope to have fruitful cooperation that would benefit our professional communities’, Milyausha Aituganova.
Andrey Morgan highlighted that the programme of the International Festival of Cinema, Religion and Society has not only film screenings, but also round table sessions and side conferences that aimed to establish mutual understanding of people with different religious background. He invited emerging Tatarstan directors to participate in the festival in October, announcing that in 2019, the programme of the festival will have a special presentation of the Kazan Muslim Film Festival.
