Kazan film festival will organize a forum of film schools

On September 8 and 9, a forum of film schools will be held within the business platform of the XVIII Kazan International Muslim Film Festival. The event will be held at the Kazan State Institute of Culture.

The forum of film schools is a platform for the experience exchange of representatives in the field of cinema education.

A round table planned as a part of the forum, where participants will discuss the problems of education in the field of cinema, modern standards of curricula and principles of training specialists. The main topic of the discussion will be training of mid-level masters. For cinema amateurs and students, participants will hold workshops.

Executive director of the Kazan International Muslim Film Festival Miliausha Aituganova reminded that in 2017, for the first time, representatives of film schools were invited to the round table “Cinema and education”, where guests shared their experience of cinema education in different countries. "This year we realized a very urgent problem for the field of cinema that is the lack of mid-level specialists. That is why we appealed to all film schools to discuss this topic and analyze the ways of possible training of specialists in this field”, outlined the problem Aituganova. She drew attention to the fact that the geography of the forum participants is not limited – there will be as Russian cinematographic centers, as foreign ones. Thus, for instance, some film schools from Moscow and Saint-Petersburg have already confirmed their participation in the course of business platform of the film festival in order to share their experience at the forum of film schools.

We remind you that film market, the aim of which is to establish cooperation and ties between “the players” of the film industry, which will give an opportunity to popularize regional cinema in the Russian Federation, will be held on September, 8 within the business platform of KIMFF.

An International Pitching of film projects providing an opportunity for talented cinematographers to implement their creative projects with the participation of the Russian regions and foreign countries will be held on September, 9.

Kazan International Muslim Film Festival has been held in the capital of Tatarstan sine 2005. The first festival was organized on the initiative of the Council of Muftis of Russia, Federal agency for Culture and Cinematography of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan with the support of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The founders of the festival are the Ministry of culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Centralized Muslim Religious Organization Council of Muftis of Russia, Executive Committee of the municipal unit of Kazan. The festival is organized by “Tatarkino” together with the Regional department of the All-Russia Organization “The Cinematographers Union of Russia” of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Within the course of its existence the festival has acquired the status of a prestigious cinematographers’ forum, has become an integral attribute of the cultural life of Kazan, the event that contributes to strengthening of Kazan image as the cultural capital. The Kazan International Muslim Film festival is held under the motto “Through the dialogue of cultures to the culture of dialogue”.
