Kazan and Sharm El-Sheikh Film Festivals Signed a Cooperation Agreement

The directors of the Kazan Muslim Film Festival and Sharm El-Sheikh Film Festival, Milyausha Aytuganova, and Magdi Ahmed Ali signed a cooperation agreement today in Kazan. The signing ceremony was also attended by a Egyption delegation, including a state advisor on culture Usama El Serui.

‘The films by Egyptian directors are bellowed by inhabitants of Kazan and Tatarstan. This agreement would be an impetus for our further cooperation’, commented Milyausha Aituganova.

Our Preacher by Magdi Ahmed Ali was the opening film of the Kazan international festival of Muslim Film in 2017: ‘I liked the city, I liked the reaction of the spectators to my film. I hope that our cooperation will continue not only within the framework of the festival, but also in creating co-productions’, added Magdi Ahmed Ali.

The Kazan Muslim Film Festival is currently aiming to establish partnerships with international film festivals. At the 13th edition of the festival, cooperation agreements were signed with Aswan International Women Film Festival. The 14th edition has already brought the partnerships with International Oriental Film Festival of Geneva (Switzerland) and Turkic World Documentary Film Festival (Turkey).

The ceremony concluded with the opening of the Days of Egyptian Cinema parallel programme of the 14th edition of the Kazan Muslim Film Festival. The following Egyptian films will be screened within the framework of the parallel programme: Kissing is forbidden by Ahmad Amera, Before the summer goes by Mohammad Khan,  Gate of Departure by Karim Hanafi , Faded Green by Mohammed Hammad.
