Submission call for the XXI Kazan International “Altyn Minbar” Film Festival starts

The submission call for the XXI Kazan International “Altyn Minbar” Film Festival, which will take place in Kazan from September 5 to 9, 2025, has already started.

The festival is founded by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, a centralized Muslim Religious organization, the Council of Muftis of Russia, and the Executive Committee of the municipal unit of Kazan.

The Kazan International “AltynMinbar” Film Festival is the competition of feature, documentary, and animation films reflecting universal spiritual and moral values and cultural traditions, carrying the ideas of peacemaking, tolerance, and humanism, regardless of national and confessional affiliation. The festival has been held in the capital of Tatarstan since 2005. The first forum was organized under the initiative of the Council of Muftis of Russia, the Federal Agency for Culture and Cinematography of the Russian Federation, and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan with the support of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The festival is held under the motto “Through the dialogue of cultures to the culture of dialogue” and bears an educational, aesthetic, and spiritual mission, contributing much to the development of Russian culture.

To participate in the festival, one needs to send the application form until June 1, 2025, on the e-mail info@kazan-mfmk.com or fill it out on the official website https://kazan-mfmk.com/application/. Films made no earlier than 2023 are allowed for the competition.

The Kazan International “Altyn Minbar” Film Festival has long ago given a good account of itself in the world of cinema arts. With the years passed, the festival strengthened its positions as an active participant of the international cultural process, having become an important platform for demonstration of the best achievements of different countries’ cinema.

The festival has a unique image that makes it different from other similar events. It attracts not only with its special approach towards the films' selection, which reflects the cultural diversity of the world. Annually, the festival gathers cinematographers from different countries for experience exchange and discussion of relevant tendencies in the cinema industry and establish new partnerships.

“Altyn Minbar” is the place for experts in the film industry, where they can present their work for the mass audience as well as to find new partners and like-minded fellows. The festival contributes to the development of the international dialogue and strengthening of cultural relations between countries, playing a significant role in the promotion of national cinema and supporting of world cinema traditions.
