Open-call for the XXII Kazan International Altyn Minbar Film Festival

The XXII Kazan Altyn Minbar Film Festival launches the open call. The festival will take place in Kazan from September 4 to 8.

The festival is founded by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, a centralized Muslim religious organization, the Council of Muftis of Russia, and the Executive Committee of the municipal unit of Kazan.

The festival has been held in the capital of Tatarstan since 2005 under the motto “Through the dialogue of cultures to the culture of dialogue.” The first forum was organized under the initiative of the Council of Muftis of Russia, the Federal Agency for Culture and Cinematography of the Russian Federation, and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan with the support of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The competition program includes Russian and foreign films, reflecting universal human and spiritual values and cultural traditions, bearing the ideas of peacemaking, tolerance, and humanism.

Within the course of its existence, the Kazan International Altyn Minbar Film Festival has taken a good position in the cultural life of Tatarstan, having become a significant event in the region. The international boundaries also keep on growing annually, i.e., the participation geography expands, and the scale of professional partnership grows. This event contributes to the development of the cinema, the strengthening of the international dialogue, and experience exchange.

Special awards are a prize of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan “For humanism in cinematography”, the Prize of the Mayor of Kazan, the Guild of film experts and film critics of Russia etc.
