On June 6, reception of applications for Pitching of film projects has started

On June 6, the reception of applications for Pitching of film projects, which will be held within the XVIII Kazan International Muslim Film Festival, has started.

Entries and scripts in English and Russian in the “Full-length film” category, synopses and scripts of full-length feature films are accepted for participation in the Pitching.

Participation in the Pitching is free, you need to fill out the entry form on the website www.kazan-mfmk.com.

Public defense of projects will be on September 8. The selection of applications will finish on August 15, after which a shortlist including 7-10 projects will be published. Both personal attendance and online participation are possible on the public defense.

The status of the Pitching is international. The main task is the stimulation of the the development of joint with the Republic of Tatarstan film production in the regions of Russia, including participation of foreign countries, finding new names in cinematography world, presentation of new projects and search for fresh ideas for cinema development, creation of a database of filmmakers form Russian regions and foreign countries, introduction of filmmakers to producers, directors and others, interested in joint film projects. Pitching provides an opportunity for talented cinematographers to implement their creative projects.

Within the framework of the Pitching educational programs, trainings, meetings with the representatives of Expert council of the Pitching will be held.

The participants of Pitching will compete for the main prize – 500 000 rubles. As additional prizes from the expert council can be production of projects, support in the film projects implementation, free provision or discounts on various types of service in the field of cinematography, valuable prizes etc.

We remind you that last year the winner was Alexander Shirmanov, who presented the project named “Rakurs (Perspective)” about one of the founders of constructivism Alexander Rodchenko. The project got a financial aid in the amount of 500 000 rubles as well as supervision and experts assistance. Another project named “Shurale” by Rustem Shamsivaliev was awarded a certificate for 300 000 rubles for equipment rental from Kino Life (Tatarstan) company.
