Karen Shakhnazarov, Vadim Abdrashitov and Nikolai Dostal will attend the jubilee edition of the Kazan Muslim Film Festival

Celebrating its 15th anniversary, the Kazan Film Festival will bring together the chairmen of its jury boards from previous editions. 

The 15th edition of the Kazan Muslim Film Festival will be held from 24 to 30 April 2019 with the support of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov

The jubilee edition of the festival will bring together the chairmen of its jury boards from previous editions. Their works will be presented in a special retrospective programme of the festival. 

The attendance of the Kazan Muslim Film Festival was confirmed by:

Karen Shakhnazarov (Russia), a Soviet and Russian film director, screenwriter, producer, the general director of the Mosfilm Cinema Concern, a People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, an Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation, a Laureate of the State Prizes of the RSFSR and the Russian Federation.

Vadim Abdrashitov (Russia), a Soviet and Russian film director, a People's Artist of the Russian Federation, an Honoured Artist of the RSFSR, a winner of the State Prizes of the RSFSR and the USSR.

Alexander Proshkin (Russia), a Soviet and Russian film director, screenwriter, a People's Artist of the Russian Federation, a laureate of the USSR State Prize.

Nikolai Dostal (Russia), a Soviet and Russian film director, screenwriter, a People's Artist of the Russian Federation, a laureate of the Moscow International Film Festival, Locarno Film Festival, Kinotavr Festival; NIKA, Golden Eagle and TEFI awards-winner. 

Radoslav Spasov (Bulgaria), a cameraman, film director, screenwriter and producer, a winner of the Moscow International Film Festival.

Rustam Ibragimbekov (Azerbaijan), a Soviet and Azerbaijani writer, film director, a laureate of the State Prizes of the Azerbaijan SSR and the USSR, the State Prize of Russia for literature and arts, a People’s Writer of Azerbaijan, an Honoured Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR and an Honoured Artist of the Russian Federation.

Bolotbek Shamshiev (Kyrgyzstan), a Soviet and Kyrgyz film director, screenwriter, actor, a People’s Artist of the Kyrgyz SSR, a People’s Artist of the USSR, Honoured Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic. 

Ali Khamraev (Uzbekistan), a Soviet film director, screenwriter, an Honoured Artist of the Republic of Uzbekistan, an award- winner of San Remo and New Delhi film festivals.

Davlatnazar Khudonazarov (Tajikistan), a Soviet film director, cameraman, politician and human rights activists, a People’s Artist of the Tajik SSR, a laureate of the State Prize of the Tajik SSR.

Khojakuli Narliev (Turkmenistan), a film director, screenwriter, cameraman, a People's Artist of the Turkmen SSR, an Honoured Art Worker of the Turkmen SSR, a member of the Presidium of the NIKA Russian Academy of Cinematographic Arts. 

Maya-Gozel Aimedova (Turkmenistan), a Turkmen actress, screenwriter, a People’s Artist of the Turkmen SSR, a People’s Artist of the USSR, a member of the NIKA Russian Academy of Cinematographic Arts. 

The 15th edition of the Kazan Muslim Film Festival will be held in the partnership with the Russia - Islamic World group of strategic vision and within the framework of the Russia - Islamic World: KAZANSUMMIT 2019 International Economic Summit.

The festival is founded by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Mayor of Kazan and the Council of Muftis of Russia and organised by Tatarkino.

The festival programme focuses on Russian and international films promoting the ideas of tolerance, peacebuilding and intercultural dialogue regardless any religion affiliations. The festival motto is ‘Through the dialogue of cultures - to the culture of dialogue’.
