14th Kazan Film Festival Continues its Press Screenings

The press screenings of the 14th Kazan Film Festival continue at Mir Cinema: the focus of this week is the parallel programme of the 2018 edition of the festival represented by ‘The Girl with the Red Scarf’ film by a Turkish director Atif Yilmaz. The film was inspired by the novel of Chingiz Aitmatov and will be screened within the special retrospective programme of the festival devoted to this acclaimed writer.

At the press screening, Milyausha Aytuganova, the executive director of the festival and the director of Tatarkino presented Nargiz Nureyeva, a member of the Festival’s Selection Committee, who shared the story and the significance of the film with the representatives of regional media.

The retrospective programme devoted to the films inspired by the works of Chingiz Aitmatov and celebrating his 90th anniversary will include the following films: Spotted Dog Running at the Edge of the Sea (1990), Jamilya (1969), Mankurt (1990), Farewell, Gyulsara! (1968), Mother Earth (1967) and The White Ship (1976).

Please note, that the press-screening initially scheduled for August 21, is postponed due to the celebration of Kurban Bairam. The place and time of the next press screening will be reported additionally.
